Papa's Blog

I began my journey as a father in 2012 when I received the most memorable Christmas gift ever. On December 20th, 2012, just six months after graduating from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University, my wife told me that we were going to parents. It was a simple text with an image of the positive test. I was elated and I was afraid. I had dreamed of being a father, a present, loving, provider and protector. I was also overwhelmed by the responsibility. I had no example in my life and I hoped to create the example for my child.

That naive joy and fear spurred action, imagination, and efforts beyond what I thought were possible. I have navigated through my own successes, failures, tears, divorce, depression, reaffirmation, and joy, all with a simple guiding light, fatherhood. It is the heart of my identity and I will be forever grateful for my children and their mother for giving me that gift.
